Carmenere: Dark and tannic, with the rich flavours of blakcberry, dark cherry, blueberry, sage, roasemary, dark chocolate, espresso and tobacco, Carmenere is the signature wine of Chile and a pleasing alternative to equally full-bodied wine that lack its juicy character. This is a perfect sipping wine in that it is not overly dry nor overly sweet. The combination makes Carmenere very well suited to a range of environments, from a casual drink with friends on a summer evening to formal, sit down dinners. Choose foods to pair with this wine that are equally as full-bodied, such as red meat, game, and strong cheeses.
